What is Tanning?

What are the causes of skin tanning?

3. Ultraviolet C (UV-C)

People have been using the following skin lightening home treatments for centuries; however, no scientific evidence supports their effectiveness.
1. Lemon juice and Honey to remove sun tan from our face immediately
When removing tan, lemon juice is an ancient and efficient approach. Lemon juice has a whitening effect on the skin, making it helpful in removing tan. Honey is excellent for keeping the skin moist and silky.
Take one tablespoon of lemon juice and mix it with a teaspoon of Honey. Apply it to your skin and let it on for around 30 minutes. It should be washed away.

To utilise lemon juice topically, it must be diluted and cleaned thoroughly. Irritation may result from stepping out in the sun while wearing lemon or other citrus fruits on one’s skin. In addition, if irritation occurs, the product should be stopped.
2. Turmeric and Bengal Gram Face Pack

3. Papaya and Honey
Papaya is a popular home cure for removing tan. It includes papain enzyme, which is known to lighten the skin, and Honey, which helps to keep the skin supple and moisturised. Apply a handful of papaya mashed with Honey to the face and let it on for 15 minutes. Allow it to sit for 20 minutes before washing it off.
4. Potato Juice
Potato juice, when extracted, is a potent bleaching agent with a long shelf life. It may be used to brighten a tan and dark bags under the eyes. Remove the peel from a potato and mix it in a blender until smooth.
Apply it to the tanned regions of your face and let it on for 15 minutes. It should be washed away with cold water.
5. Coconut Milk
Coconut milk is very nutritious and moisturising for the skin, and it helps to replenish moisture that has been lost—the presence of vitamin C and mild acids aid in removing tan.
Apply fresh coconut milk to a cotton ball and dab it all over your face to moisturise. Allow it to dry thoroughly before washing it off with a mild cleaner.
6. Saffron and Milk to remove tan from face immediately
Saffron has skin-soothing and skin-lightening characteristics, making it a valuable substance for eliminating tan quickly and effectively. It includes bioactive components that shield the skin from the sun’s damaging ultraviolet radiation, therefore reversing the effects of tan formation.

How To Prevent Sun Tanning?
- When going out during the day, make sure you are well covered.
- Make use of hats, sunglasses, stoles, and other accessories.
- Avoid going outside during the most intense periods of sunlight (10 am to 2 pm)
- Apply sunscreen before going outside, and reapply it every two hours while outdoors.
- Maintain your hydration. If you want to keep your skin from becoming dehydrated throughout the summer, drink at least 15-20 glasses of water every day. Consume high-fibre meals such as green fruits and vegetables to maintain a healthy weight.
